Mauro Martinez Diaz, a 58-year-old resident of Gresham, Oregon, was fatally shot in the early hours of January 6, 2024. The incident occurred near the intersection of E Burnside St. and SE 188th Ave. in Gresham. Police officers responded to reports of a shooting shortly after 1 o'clock on Saturday morning and found Martinez Diaz with gunshot wounds. Despite immediate medical treatment at the scene, he was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
