In the early hours of Saturday, January 6, 2024, a series of disturbances in Gresham, Oregon, culminated in the shooting death of 58-year-old Mauro Martinez Diaz, a White/Caucasian male resident of the city. The fatal encounter took place around 1:00 a.m. near the intersection of East Burnside Street and Southeast 188th Avenue.
