On June 22, 2024, a shooting and homicide occurred in The Dalles, Oregon, resulting in the death of Michael A. Boyer, a 41-year-old former resident of The Dalles who was residing in southwest Washington at the time of his death.
Michael A. Boyer was identified as the victim by the City of The Dalles Police Department. The police have requested assistance from the public, particularly seeking information from several direct witnesses who left the scene before the police arrived.

connection with the shooting, Noe Zaragoza Jr., 23, was arrested in Camas, Washington, on June 22, 2024. Zaragoza's apprehension was the result of a coordinated effort between law enforcement agencies, highlighting exemplary interagency cooperation and dedication.
Following his arrest, Noe Zaragoza Jr. was scheduled to be arraigned in Clark County on June 24, 2024. Subsequently, a grand jury indicted Zaragoza on June 26, 2024, for multiple charges including Murder in the Second Degree, two counts of Unlawful Use of a Weapon With a Firearm, Menacing, and Assault in the Fourth Degree.
