On June 27, 2024, around 8:30 p.m., Portland police officers responded to a report of a shooting at the TriMet MAX platform located at North Interstate Avenue and North Prescott Street in North Portland. Upon arrival, they found 39-year-old Sean K. Smeeden of Portland deceased. The medical examiner determined that Smeeden died from a homicide by gunshot wound.
