On the evening of June 27, 2024, a burst of violence shattered the routine of a North Portland transit station, claiming the life of Sean K. Smeeden, a 39-year-old White / Caucasian male. The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. at the TriMet MAX platform situated at the intersection of North Interstate Avenue and North Prescott Street.
