On the evening of September 19, 2024, a fatal shooting occurred at a TriMet MAX platform in the Hazelwood neighborhood of Portland, Oregon. The victim was identified as Taysean Nash, a 24-year-old male. Officers from the East Precinct responded to reports of a person shot at Northeast 148th Avenue and East Burnside Street at 7:26 p.m. and found Mr. Nash deceased at the scene. The Medical Examiner later determined that the cause of death was a homicide by gunshot wound.
