On July 3, 2023, a homicide occurred in New Bedford, Massachusetts, resulting in the death of 20-year-old Lorenzo Gomes. The incident took place early in the morning near the intersection of Tallman Street and North Front Street. The New Bedford Police Department responded to a 911 call at approximately 12:11 a.m. after witnesses reported hearing what they believed to be gunshots.
