In the early morning hours of March 26, 2001, the life of 26-year-old Clifford Barrymore was tragically cut short. The male victim was inside an apartment rented by his girlfriend at the Willows Apartments on Tarkin Hill Road in New Bedford, Massachusetts, when the fatal incident occurred.
Around 1:03 A.M., witnesses in the vicinity reported hearing the distinct sounds of a struggle, described as shuffling feet, followed by a quick succession of gunshots.
In total, five shots were believed to have been fired. Responding to the scene, New Bedford Police officers discovered Barrymore in the living room area of the apartment. He had sustained several gunshot wounds to his head and was pronounced dead.
