At approximately 1:39 AM, police responded to a report of a person shot in the vicinity of 159 Forest Hills Street. Upon their arrival, they discovered Webb suffering from gunshot wounds. He was quickly transported to a local hospital, but his injuries proved to be fatal, and he was pronounced deceased.

The investigation into Webb's death led Boston Police to a suspect, Dequann Whyte-Cohen. He was apprehended by officers and, during the arrest, attempted to flee the scene, resulting in an injury to one of the detaining officers.
