In the late afternoon of August 31, 2022, a burst of gunfire shattered the quiet of a Dorchester neighborhood, leaving a young Black / African American man with fatal injuries. Keondre Roberts, a 25-year-old male from Boston, was shot in the vicinity of 7 Van Winkle Street shortly after 5 p.m. In the immediate aftermath of the shooting, Roberts managed to get himself to a local hospital to seek treatment for the life-threatening wounds he had sustained.
