On November 18, 2023, Barbara J. Cruz, a 77-year-old resident of Tiverton, Rhode Island, was tragically killed in an apparent murder-suicide incident in Rehoboth, Massachusetts. Cruz was at her 84-year-old sister's home on Summer Street in Rehoboth when the incident occurred. According to the Bristol County District Attorney's office, Cruz was shot and killed by Omar Bradley, 72, who had been living with Cruz's sister. After shooting Cruz, Bradley turned the gun on himself.
