On January 19, 2023, 23-year-old Derrick Allen Janney of Indianapolis, Indiana, was found deceased with injuries consistent with a gunshot wound along the southbound lanes of Interstate 65 near Franklin. The Johnson County Coroner's Office later identified the manner of death as suicide.
