In what was initially reported as a tragic accident, the life of 33-year-old Taylor Long was cut short on April 3, 2023, in Terre Haute, Indiana. On that day, his wife, Denia Long, placed a 911 call from their vehicle, parked near a liquor store, stating she had accidentally shot her husband while moving a handgun. When officers arrived, they found Taylor Long unresponsive in the front seat.
He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
For over a year, the case was investigated by the Terre Haute Police Department. While Denia Long maintained that the shooting was accidental, inconsistencies in her account began to surface. According to court documents that later came to light, a witness was on the phone with Denia at the time of the incident and overheard the couple arguing just before Taylor was shot.
