On April 20, 2023, a tragic incident occurred on the east side of Indianapolis, resulting in the death of 15-year-old Derrick Marsia "Phat Man" Houston Jr. The shooting took place in the early morning hours, around 6:30 a.m., near the intersection of 38th Street and North Post Road, specifically in the area of Breen Drive and North Brentwood Avenue.
