On May 16, 2023, Melissa Trevino, a 22-year-old woman from Fort Wayne, Indiana, was found dead in a hotel room at the Quality Inn located at 1734 W. Washington Center Road. The incident occurred when the Fort Wayne Police Department (FWPD) responded to a report of an unknown problem involving two people found unconscious just after 12:45 p.m..
