On August 17, 2023, Dantavis Anthony Hayden, a 23-year-old man, was fatally shot in a residential area on the near-west side of Indianapolis, Indiana. The incident occurred in the 500 block of Lynn Street, just a few blocks northwest of the White River bridge over West Michigan Street. Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) officers responded to an incomplete 911 call around 6:40 p.m. and found two men with gunshot wounds.
