On the night of January 24, 2024, a violent incident occurred in the 2000 block of Pearl Street in Anderson, Indiana, claiming the life of 38-year-old Rishon Reeves-Linley. The Anderson Police Department received an alert from the city’s audio gunshot detection system around 10:15 p.m., notifying officers of gunfire in the area approximately six minutes before the first 911 call was placed.
Upon arriving at the scene, first responders found Reeves-Linley inside an apartment building suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Reeves-Linley was remembered by friends and family as a father of nine children who was often the 'life of the party.'
Witnesses in the vicinity reported hearing an argument inside the apartment complex just prior to the sound of gunshots. Neighbors directed the arriving officers to the specific location of the disturbance. The investigation moved rapidly, with detectives identifying potential suspects within hours of the shooting. By the following day, January 25, 2024, police had taken two individuals into custody in connection with the homicide.
The primary suspects arrested were identified as 30-year-old Cyrstin Cierha Walker and 19-year-old Isaiah Lee Crawford. Walker was immediately faced with a preliminary charge of murder, while Crawford was initially charged with assisting a criminal, obstruction of justice, and weapons violations. In February 2024, investigators also publicly sought four additional 'persons of interest'—Robert Tapscott, Tina Ellis-Sanqunetti, Angela Claybaugh, and Amber Shelton—stating that these individuals were impeding the investigation and evading contact with law enforcement.
Legal proceedings against the two arrested suspects concluded in late 2025. Madison County jail records indicate that Isaiah Crawford was sentenced to the Department of Corrections on September 5, 2025, with listed offenses including murder, obstruction of justice, and invasion of privacy. Cyrstin Walker was subsequently sentenced to the Department of Corrections on September 22, 2025, on the charge of murder. Following their sentencing hearings, both individuals were transferred from the county jail to state prison facilities to serve their terms.
