Johnny Depriest Parker, a 40-year-old Black male from Elkhart, Indiana, was fatally shot in the early morning hours of Sunday, September 15, 2024. The incident took place at Phil's Corner, a bar located just outside the Elkhart city limits on County Road 7. Deputies who responded to the scene found Parker with a gunshot wound. He was quickly transported to Elkhart General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
