Death by Force

On March 12, 2023, at 1:21 a.m., the Belleville Police Department responded to a 911 call at a residence in the 400 block of South 29th Street in Belleville, Illinois. Upon arrival, officers found a 38-year-old male victim, identified as Paul Kirby, inside the residence with a gunshot wound. Despite the efforts of initial responding officers and EMS personnel, Kirby showed no signs of life and was pronounced deceased at the scene by the St. Clair County Coroner’s Office.
