Emarion Lamar Carpenter, a 15-year-old from Peoria, Illinois, lost his life to gun violence on June 18, 2023. He was born on April 8, 2008, to Cassity Johnson.

The incident occurred in the area near McBean and Merriman in Peoria, following multiple ShotSpotter alerts. During this event, Emarion Carpenter was pronounced dead at the scene. Another juvenile present at the time suffered a hand injury.
