Kimoni Franks, a 16-year-old resident of Kankakee, Illinois, tragically lost his life on July 11, 2023, due to gun violence. He was found shot on a city sidewalk in Kankakee.

Kimoni was born on November 10, 2006, to Sagondra Brookshaw and Kim Franks Sr. in Kankakee, IL. At the time of his death, he had completed his sophomore year at Kankakee High School, where he was an active member. He was also a member of the Pentecostal Power House Church.
