Daryl T. Spears, a 29-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on February 21, 2021, in Kankakee, Illinois. Spears was found with gunshot wounds to his chest in an alley behind the 400 block of South Dearborn Avenue. Despite being transported to a nearby hospital, he succumbed to his injuries. The Kankakee Police Department immediately launched an investigation into his death, treating it as a homicide.
