Death by Force

On July 13, 2023, a shooting occurred in East St. Louis, Illinois, resulting in the death of 28-year-old Aveon N. White. The incident took place around 3:10 p.m. near the 2700 block of Ridge Avenue. An officer, alerted by a passerby, discovered White lying in the street with gunshot wounds and multiple shell casings nearby. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 4:12 p.m.
