Mahir Smajic, a 35-year-old Bosnian male, was tragically found deceased inside his vehicle on August 21, 2019, in Cahokia, Illinois. The incident occurred around 3:30 a.m. when the Cahokia Police Department responded to a report of shots fired in the 700 block of Mildred Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered Mahir Smajic with a fatal gunshot wound inside his car, which was straddling the street and blocking one lane of traffic.
