On the evening of August 16, 2023, a tragic shooting occurred at the intersection of 38th Street and Audubon Avenue in East St. Louis, Illinois, resulting in the death of 20-year-old Jermaine Montez Bonner Jr. The incident, which took place around 8:30 p.m., also left four other adults injured. Jermaine succumbed to his injuries approximately two hours after the shooting.
