On August 19, 2023, 17-year-old Ashuntice Wilburn was fatally shot in Galewood Park in the North Austin neighborhood of Chicago. The incident occurred in the 5700 block of West Bloomingdale Avenue, where Wilburn and a 16-year-old boy were targeted by gunfire during a block party nearby.
