On August 31, 2023, a fatal shooting occurred in the 800 block of Helen Street in South Peoria, Illinois. The victim, identified by Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood, was 19-year-old Damar Watts of Peoria. Watts was found deceased inside a house when police officers arrived at the scene around 10:20 a.m..
