Amaris Trujillo, a 20-year-old woman from Highland, Indiana, was fatally shot in a violent incident in Chicago's Brighton Park neighborhood on September 20, 2023. At the time of the shooting, Trujillo was in a car with her then-boyfriend, who was driving, and her mother, who was in the back seat.
