On September 21, 2023, Jack Carpenter, 64, from Putnam, Illinois, tragically lost his life in a shooting incident. The event occurred in the Lake Thunderbird area, where authorities responded to a 911 call reporting a gunshot. Upon arrival, they found Carpenter at the end of his driveway with fatal gunshot wounds.

The suspected shooter, Carpenter's 26-year-old nephew, Joshua J. Aalders, was taken into custody shortly after the incident. Preliminary investigations revealed the shooting ...
