Darius Oliver, a 21-year-old African American male, was fatally shot on August 19, 2013, in Chicago's Uptown neighborhood. The incident occurred around 5:57 p.m. near the intersection of Wilson Avenue and Sheridan Road, outside the Uptown Baptist Church—a location designated as a 'Safe Passage' route for Chicago Public Schools.
