On September 22, 2023, a fatal shooting occurred in Peoria, Illinois, resulting in the death of 15-year-old Jabbarius Highsmith. The incident took place in the 1600 block of North Great Oak Road, near Parkway Commons in Central Peoria, just before 7:00 p.m..
