On October 30, 2023, a tragic incident occurred in Chicago, Illinois, resulting in the death of 16-year-old Ameer McMullin. The shooting took place in the 1900 block of East 87th Street, near Chicago Vocational High School, where Ameer was a student. The incident happened just before 4 p.m. in a parking lot in the Avalon Park area, which is also part of the Stony Island Park neighborhood.
