On November 12, 2023, Alexus Z. Ward, a 25-year-old woman, was fatally shot outside her residence on the South Side of Chicago, Illinois. The incident occurred late in the evening, just before 11:30 p.m., in the 6700 block of South Crandon Avenue.

When Chicago police responded to the call of a person shot, they found Ward outside her home with multiple gunshot wounds. She was immediately transported to the University of Chicago Hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.
