Mechelle Lewis, a 28-year-old African American woman, was tragically killed on April 21, 2015, in Chicago, IL. The incident occurred in the South Shore neighborhood, where she was shot multiple times by her ex-boyfriend, Myron Mason, in front of their two children. Lewis was sitting in a van parked in front of her home on South Bennett Avenue when Mason approached and opened fire, shattering the driver-side window and wounding her several times.
