He was fatally shot while seated in his vehicle in the 3400 block of West 24th Street, located in Chicago's South Lawndale neighborhood, commonly known as Little Village. At the time of the incident, Pedro was warming up his car before heading to work.
Following his untimely death, a visitation was held on January 22, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
at Martinez Funeral Home in Chicago. After the service, his body was transported to his native Guatemala for burial. The community mourned his passing and called for justice in the wake of his murder.
