On October 6, 2020, Taurus Murry, a 25-year-old African American male, was fatally shot while sitting in a vehicle in the Avalon Park neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. The incident occurred around 2 p.m. in the 1400 block of East 79th Street. According to reports, a white SUV approached the vehicle in which Murry and a 26-year-old woman were seated.
