James Barnes, aged 53, tragically lost his life to gun violence on February 10, 2024, in Chicago, Illinois. His passing was a significant loss to his family and the community.
Born on June 29, 1966, James was the beloved son of Keith and Linda Barnes. He attended Collins High School, graduating in 1984. In 1998, he married Donna Barnes, and together they raised four children: Bernard, Travel, Kenneth, and Darius. James was also a proud grandfather to ten grandchildren.
James had a passion for cooking and was known for creating delicious meals for his family and friends. He will be remembered for his kind heart, sense of humor, and unwavering love for his family. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A funeral service was held on March 11-12, 2024, at the Mt. Calvary Church of Wheel and Compassion in Chicago, where family and friends gathered to honor his memory and celebrate his life.
