On February 24, 2024, a fatal shooting occurred in the 400 block of Powell Avenue in Waukegan, Illinois, resulting in the deaths of two victims, including Ana Gil, 24, of Waukegan. The Waukegan Fire Department and Waukegan Police Department responded to the scene around 4:20 p.m. after reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers found two individuals who had been shot.
