Billy J. Parker, a 26-year-old man from the north side of Chicago, died on February 25, 2024, due to a shooting incident in the northwest suburban area of Niles, Illinois. The incident occurred near a Dollar Store located at the intersection of Harlem and Chase avenues. Parker was found on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds and was subsequently taken to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Witnesses reported hearing the sound of gunshots, with one witness, Cia Zervos, describing the event: "All I heard is boom, boom, boom. I thought it was a car accident because there's always a car accident at this corner. And then my son's friend texted him, 'Hey did you hear that?' and he said, 'I think there's someone you know on the ground,'".
As of the current date, no one is in custody in connection with the shooting, and the Niles police are still investigating the incident.
Billy J. Parker is survived by his mother, Lisa Malinski; his sisters, Rachel and Hayley Parker; his nephew Spencer; and his grandparents, Dorothy and Billy Parker. He was predeceased by his father, Billy Parker; his aunt Rachel Malinski; and his grandparents, Dennis Malinski and Nora.
