On May 13, 2024, Danielle R. Williams, a 39-year-old resident of East St. Louis, Illinois, was fatally shot outside Another Level Nightclub on Martin Luther King Drive. Following the incident, Illinois State Police, in collaboration with the East St. Louis Police Department, initiated a homicide investigation. Their efforts led to the arrest of 45-year-old Lakecia S. Cole from Cahokia Heights, who was subsequently charged with first-degree murder in connection with Williams's death.
