On Sunday, June 16, 2024, at approximately 10:03 p.m., Rockford Police officers responded to 3725 East State Street in Rockford, Illinois, following reports of numerous gunshots. Simultaneously, officers were dispatched to the East State/Fairview area where a vehicle had struck a building at 3415 East State Street. The incident occurred in the parking lot of the San Jose Restaurant, where an altercation led to an exchange of gunfire.
