On July 5, 2024, 40-year-old Torian T. Hopkins was fatally shot in a residence on Judith Lane in Cahokia Heights, Illinois. Authorities pronounced him dead at the scene at 3:40 p.m. Another victim, 41-year-old Anthony M. Andrews, was also found deceased at the location.
The incident involved a confrontation between Hopkins and Andrews, during which both men sustained multiple gunshot wounds. In the aftermath, Louis E. Hopkins, Torian's 62-year-old father, was charged with first-degree murder and unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon. Authorities allege that Louis Hopkins shot and killed Andrews during the altercation.
The Cahokia Heights Police Department, along with the Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis, conducted the investigation. At the time of reporting, officials had not disclosed further details regarding the circumstances leading up to the shooting or the events that transpired during the incident.
