Octavia Redmond, a 48-year-old U.S. Postal Service letter carrier, was fatally shot on July 19, 2024, while delivering mail in the West Pullman neighborhood of Chicago. The incident occurred at about 11:38 a.m. in the 12100 block of South Harvard, where Redmond was in front of a residence when an unknown male offender approached her, produced a firearm, and fired multiple shots before fleeing the scene in a white Dodge Durango.
