On September 9, 2024, a fatal shooting occurred on Chicago's South Side, resulting in the death of Emil L. Riley Jr., a 30-year-old man. The incident took place in the 7400-block of South Kimbark Avenue in the Grand Crossing neighborhood.

According to the Chicago Police Department, Riley and a 31-year-old woman were in a stationary vehicle when a white sedan pulled up. Three suspects exited the sedan and began shooting in the direction of the victims. Riley was shot and pronounced dead ...
