Black/African American male Carmelo Alicea, 24, was shot and killed on the evening of October 16, 2024, in Chicago's New City neighborhood. According to authorities, he was in an alley in the 4800 block of South Elizabeth Street around 7 p.m. when someone approached and opened fire. He was pronounced dead at 7:34 p.m., and officials identified him as a 24-year-old man from Forest Park.
