Death by Force

Derrius Drakes, a 23-year-old African American male, was tragically shot and killed on February 25, 2015, in the Roseland neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. The incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. when Derrius was standing outside in the 11300 block of South Parnell. According to the police and the Cook County medical examiner's office, he was shot in the back. The circumstances surrounding his death were deeply distressing for the community and his family.
