On January 22, 2023, 44-year-old Jose Manuel Ozuna-Ruiz was fatally shot during a gathering at an apartment complex in Brookhaven, Georgia. The incident occurred around 10:30 a.m. in the 3100 block of Buford Highway, where a party had extended from the previous night into the morning. An argument between Ozuna-Ruiz and another individual escalated, leading to gunfire that resulted in Ozuna-Ruiz's death and injuries to three others.
