In the city of Albany, Georgia, a young life was tragically cut short on the evening of Friday, March 31, 2023. Keshawn Davinell Hunt, a 17-year-old male, was fatally wounded in a shooting that occurred in the 900 block of WillowWood Drive. The Albany Police Department responded to a call regarding the shooting and upon their arrival, they discovered Hunt with a gunshot wound. He was quickly transported to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital for medical attention, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation into the death of Keshawn Hunt, which marked the fifth homicide in Albany that year, led to a swift arrest. On the day following the incident, Saturday, April 1, 2023, law enforcement apprehended 18-year-old Kaleb Brown. Brown was taken into custody and subsequently charged with second-degree murder, aggravated assault with a firearm, and tampering with evidence in connection with the shooting death of the teenager. Following his arrest, Kaleb Brown was booked into the Dougherty County Jail.
Keshawn was remembered as an energetic and outgoing young man with a caring nature who embraced life. He was a student within the Dougherty County School System where he was known to participate in a variety of school activities. His family and friends recall his inquisitive mind, the serious twinkle in his eyes, and a heart that was open to all who knew him. His enthusiasm, sense of humor, and laughter were said to be contagious, leaving a lasting impression on everyone around him. In his leisure time, he enjoyed listening to music, playing basketball, and connecting with his loved ones through FaceTime. His passing has left a deep void in the hearts of his family and friends, who will forever remember his vibrant spirit and big smile.
