Michael Ramon Roshell, a 32-year-old male, was tragically killed on April 4, 2023, in Stockbridge, Georgia. His life was cut short in a fatal shooting that led to the arrest of his husband, Richard Lee, who was 40 years old at the time. The incident unfolded at a residence on Adrian Drive, where officers responded to a 911 call from a child reporting a break-in.

Prior to the officers' arrival, Lee had gained entry to the home and shot Roshell. At the time of the shooting, the couple had been estranged, and Roshell had reportedly returned to the house to gather some of his belongings. In the aftermath of the incident, Lee did not stay at the scene. He was later identified as the suspect, and warrants were issued for his arrest on a charge of malice murder.

The investigation culminated in Lee's apprehension at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport as he was attempting to board a flight to Philadelphia. Following his arrest, Lee claimed that the shooting was an act of self-defense, a statement he made during a court hearing where he was subsequently denied bond. In addition to malice murder, Lee faced charges of cruelty to children and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. Roshell's sister, Stacy McIntosh, expressed her doubts about Lee's self-defense claim, stating her belief that his actions were intentional.
