In the early morning hours of May 4, 2023, in Moultrie, Georgia, a tragic series of events unfolded, leaving a community in shock and mourning the loss of three women, including 50-year-old Susie Mae Arnold. The violence began at the home Arnold shared with her son, where she was shot by him. Her son then proceeded to the adjacent home of his grandmother and shot her as well. Arnold was discovered with a gunshot wound but still alive and was transported to a local hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
The perpetrator of these acts was identified as Susie Arnold's 26-year-old son. After shooting his mother and grandmother, he drove to his place of employment, a local McDonald's. There, he lured his manager to the door and fatally shot her. Following this, he entered the restaurant and took his own life with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
