Jayla Tranay Alexander, an 18-year-old African American woman from Moultrie, Georgia, tragically lost her life on November 9, 2019. Jayla was a senior at Colquitt County High School and was well-loved by her family and friends. Her untimely death was the result of a drive-by shooting, which occurred late on a Saturday night. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) classified her death as a homicide and launched an investigation to uncover the circumstances surrounding the incident.
