On July 17, 2023, a deadly shooting occurred outside an Applebee’s restaurant located on the 5200 block of Stone Mountain Parkway in unincorporated Stone Mountain, Gwinnett County, Georgia. The victim, 21-year-old Harris Baysassie of Lilburn, was found suffering from a gunshot wound in the parking lot between the Applebee’s and a nearby O’Reilly Auto Parts. Despite being rushed to a local hospital, Harris Baysassie did not survive his injuries.
